Add an image and text and see it as a photo post or a shared link — in the desktop feed, the phone feed and a Messenger bubble — next to other posts, in light and dark mode.
Drop up to three images, or try a sample. For a shared link, use the image that your page shows when it is shared (1200 × 630 works best).
Pick Photo post or Shared link, then fill in the page name, text and — for links — the website, headline and description.
Switch between the desktop feed, the phone feed, the link card at three sizes and the crops, in light and dark mode.
See the image, website, headline and description exactly as a shared link shows them, including how much text gets cut off.
The same link card at feed, phone and chat widths, so nothing important falls off the edge.
Place up to three images with their own text in one feed to see which one stands out.
Blur the page or drop the colour to check the image and headline still read when small.
When you share a link, Facebook shows the page’s preview image (its “og:image”) at about 1.91:1, with the website, headline and a line of description underneath. 1200 × 630 pixels is the usual recommendation. Pictures with another shape are cropped from the centre.
Link images narrower than about 600 pixels can be shown as a small thumbnail beside the text instead of the big card. Use 1200 pixels wide to get the large card.
Headlines usually show two lines and the description one, so lead with the important words. Long post text is shortened behind “See more”.
A photo post shows the picture with its own shape inside a range from tall to wide. The Crops tab shows how square, 4:5, 16:9 and 9:16 pictures are cropped in each placement.
The layouts are close look-alikes built for testing. Facebook changes its design often and shows posts differently in the app, on the web and in Messenger, so use the preview as a guide. The other posts and pages are invented.
