Good to know

Which image format should you use?

Different formats suit different jobs. This converter redraws your image and re-encodes it locally with a canvas, so nothing is uploaded to any server and the result is ready right away.

PNG, JPG or WebP?

PNG is lossless and supports transparency — ideal for logos, icons and screenshots. JPG is best for photographs where small files matter and transparency isn’t needed. WebP gives you the best of both: smaller files than JPG at similar quality, with optional transparency.

Watch out for transparency

Converting a transparent PNG to JPG fills the transparent areas with white, because JPG can’t store transparency. Choose PNG or WebP if you need to keep it.

Common uses

Convert PNG, JPG and WebP in your browser

PNG to JPG

Use JPG for photos when you want a smaller file. Transparent areas are filled with white because JPG cannot store transparency.

JPG or PNG to WebP

WebP is typically smaller than JPG or PNG at similar quality and is supported by all current browsers — a good choice for websites.

WebP to PNG or JPG

Need a WebP photo to open in an older editor or upload to a site that rejects it? Convert it to JPG or PNG and download.

Convert in bulk

Drop several files at once to convert them together and download a single ZIP.
